A Little Help?

I'm finally ready to start finally making the quilt that will eventually go on our bed.
I mean, right now is the perfect time, right?
About to have a baby, 6561561685 projects in the works, nursery to completely put together, re-arranging every room in the house, and the list just goes on and on.
Whatever.
I'm ready. I know I'll make the time somehow.
We always do for the projects we really want to finish, right?

Ok, so here's my color scheme:

Greys, teals, yellows, and a little bit of lime.
I've been hoarding/collecting/saving up my fave fabrics for the project...
I'm just noticing now that I think there's a pile missing.
I don't see a few that should be in there.

Here's the thing...
I don't know what kind of quilt I want to make.
There are SO many possibilities. And I really do like them all.
That's why I want to make a decision and start cutting into fabric.
That way there's no turning back and I'll be forced into quilt completion!

Of everything out there,
I've narrowed it down to either

or

This is where I need your help.
Please.
Leave a comment and let me know which one you think I should go with.
Because I'm totally stuck.
I don't care who you are.
Just tell me.
I don't care if you just stumbled across this blog and it's the first time you ever read it.
I need help.
I don't care if you've never seen a quilt before in your whole life.
Just pick one.
I would survey everyone on the planet, if I could.
But, I can't, so this is obviously the next step.

Oh, and thanks in advance :)

  1. I say string quilt...and I love the borders action on that one, too. Have fun!

  3. I love both patterns. At first i thought Disappearing 9patch, but the string would be good too!

I totally get your dilemma! I have a stack sitting here too to make a King Sized quilt for my bed. Same thing, I wanted to be sure of what pattern to use. But because I love the fabrics so much, it had to be perfect. Guess what I decided on....a simple patchwork, but set on point (I think!) with big 10 inch finished squares to show off the fabrics)

    Good Luck!

  4. Hard choice but I think I like the disappearing 9 patch because it reminds me of the quilts my sweet grandma made! :) Happy memories!

  11. I just found your blog while searching for fabric pairings, but my vote is for the disappearing 9 patch quilt! And I'm also preggo!! I'm due with our 2nd Jelly Bean on Aug 1! You've got me hoping it's a girl (we're not finding out this time around!).

  13. Hi there, firstly, I know what you're going through! .... I have another dilemma, I hoard fabric and can't bring myself to cut into it! Always saving my favourites for that "special" project - whatever that may be.... But back to you....my vote is for the String quilt. I too think the colours you've chosen will really pop with that design. I also think that the string design is a little more contemporary than the disappearing 9 patch - but I guess it all depends on whether you prefer traditional or contemporary! good luck!
